Examples of engineers doing community service

I do not know of a PE who applies his or her talents in the community but would like to. Are there volunteer options aside from ECOS? (in Columbus)


I know my hometown county engineer. He uses his skills to make sure the counties infrastructure is reliable.


My friend's brother is mechanical engineeer. He went to Colombia to go on a mission trip. While he was there he built/designed a windmill for the locals to produce electricity in the jungle.

SWE — Society of Women Engineers. It is not exclusive to just women. SWE has done many things from selling candy on sweetest day and giving the profits to charity. They also have made cards for the different holidays to send to nursing homes.
